About the Monastery
About
Saint Josaphat's Monastery is located on a 119 acre estate on the North Shore of Long Island in Glen Cove, NY. Originally built in 1916 by the public utility executive John E. Aldred, it is now the home to the priests and brothers of the Basilian Order of St. Josaphat. The monastery runs the novitiate program for those who are entering the order.
In addition to the novitiate program, there is a retreat center on the grounds. Many religious organizations find the beautiful, tranquil setting an ideal location to get away from hectic daily life and reconnect with God. Marriage Encounter associations, parishes, and youth groups have used St. Josaphat's Monastery for their annual retreats.
St. Josaphat's Monastery hosts many events throughout the year.
